One dinner.
Everyone’s version.
SameTable is the recipe & cooking app for households that eat differently together — meat, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free — all cooked in parallel from one shared kitchen.
Built for households that eat differently.
SameTable started in early 2023, when the founder’s youngest daughter asked to go vegetarian. After some negotiation the whole family adopted pescatarian to keep meals together. Within months the older two wanted their own dietary changes, and the youngest was struggling with certain foods.
Around the same time the founder lost his tech job and his marriage broke down. After long, physical work days he had to cook one dinner that suited everyone’s tastes, met their nutritional needs, and took as little time as possible. So he did what any tech person would do: he built a spreadsheet.
The first meal was chicken and plant-based fajitas — two pans, 90% shared ingredients. That evening, for the first time in months, the family played together. It became a Monday tradition. The spreadsheet turned into a recipe collection; conversations with other families revealed a pattern. Mixed-diet households aren’t the exception — they’re the new normal.
SameTable exists to bring delicious, nutritious meals to the table with minimal fuss, and to bring families back together at mealtimes.
Real households don’t eat the same thing.
Somebody’s gone vegan. The kids won’t eat fish. A grandparent is gluten-free. And dinner is at 7pm regardless.
Every other recipe app assumes one cook making one dish. So you end up cooking two separate dinners — more time, more washing-up, more waste — or quietly giving up and making everyone the same thing. SameTable is built for the multi-variant household as the default, not the exception.
Author once. Cook every version, together.
Bring the recipe in
Snap a cookbook page or paste a link. In seconds it becomes a structured recipe — scaled, tagged, and ready to cook.
Generate the variants
One tap turns a meat dish into its vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free twin — with real substitution reasoning, not guesses.
Cook in parallel
A phone-on-counter cook flow with staggered timers walks you through every track at once — so it all lands hot, together.
A calm kitchen, in four screens.
From the weekly plan to the tap on “start cooking,” SameTable stays out of your way — until the moment it needs to nudge you.

Home surfaces tonight's meal, your Chef Points and the quests you can knock off between recipes.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner slots — shared with the household, drag-and-drop the whole week.

Three timers, one plate. Staggered starts so meat, veg and pesc all finish together.

One list, grouped by aisle, de-duped across every variant. Tick as you go.
Two meals, one cook, one finish.
A live, staggered timeline runs every version of a dish at once. The slow track starts first, the quick one waits, and SameTable nudges you at each hand-off — so every pan comes off the heat at the same moment.
- Staggered multi-timers engineered to converge.
- Per-variant steps, filtered automatically.
- “Cook the gaps” — opportunistic sub-tasks slot into waiting time.
- Phone-on-counter cook view, landscape-ready.

More than a recipe box.
Multi-variant cooking
One recipe produces up to four parallel tracks — ingredients scaled per variant, steps filtered automatically.
One shopping list
Your plan becomes one smart list — grouped by aisle, de-duped across variants, aware of what's already in the cupboard.
Shared household planner
A drag-and-drop week the whole household fills in together. Breakfast, lunch, dinner — as many variants per meal as your table needs.
Photo recipe import
Photograph a cookbook page or paste a screenshot. It becomes a structured SameTable recipe in about ten seconds.
Cross-contamination care
In-flow food-safety, allergen and dietary-separation cues fire automatically when you're cooking parallel diets.
Chef Challenge
Chef Points, streaks and household quests turn weeknight cooking into something you actually look forward to.
Cook from your phone. Plan from your laptop.
SameTable is one app across every device — same recipe, same progress, same cart. Prop your phone on the counter to cook, then sit at the kitchen table with a laptop to plan next week.

The principles behind the product.
- 01
Food is shared, recipes are personal
Households eat together, but with individual tastes and needs. The product treats both as first-class.
- 02
AI does the admin, not the cooking
AI handles variant generation, recipe import and timing. The judgement — taste, care, timing at the pan — belongs to the cook.
- 03
Credit where it's due
Recipes carry real chef bylines. Provenance you can trust; credit that's earned.
- 04
Your household owns its data
Subscription-funded, so we can be plain: no ads, no data sales, no upsells.
- No ads
- No selling your data
- No social feed
- No meal-kit upsells
- No AI-generated dinners
The household cook
Running the weekly food for two to six people, at least one of whom eats differently. You want a calm, dependable copilot that handles the complexity invisibly — so you can enjoy the meal, not orchestrate it.
The keen home cook
Cookbooks, screenshots and browser tabs scattered everywhere. You want that chaos gathered into one organised library, then cooked with the timing of a coordinated kitchen.
Cook for everyone at the table.
